I am not sure where I dreamed this idea up.

But I wanted to work on a low-poly art with wood. In this case I used 13 different species of wood made up of 400 pieces that were each cut and glued by hand according to their light/dark values. Then I glued each of these pieces to a backer board and mounted it for the

“Elephant in the Room”.
